Make a Difference - Volunteer with Downham Dementia
Downham Dementia is a charity dedicated to supporting people living with dementia and their families in the Downham Market area. We provide assistance and support services, as well as volunteer opportunities for those interested in helping out. Our work relies on the generous donations and time of our supporters, and we are grateful to have such an engaged community.
Our goal is to create a more dementia-friendly community by raising awareness and providing resources to those affected by the condition. We are passionate about supporting our members and their families, and strive to make a positive impact in the Downham Market area.

Our highly successful dementia cafes have been running since 2015. Our volunteers help with craft activities, games and trips out. They also listen to and support the carers of people who are living with dementia.

Sitting Service

We are delighted to announce the introduction of our much awaited "Sitting Service."
We have wanted to offer this service for some time, and this is your chance to be involved at the beginning of our new venture. This service is designed to help the carers that come to our dementia cafes to get a much-needed break for a couple of hours each week.
Volunteers will sit with a person who is living with dementia in their own home so that the carer is able to leave for a coupe of hours.
If you are interested in our Sitting Service please telephone our Joan, our Chairman or Amy, our Admin Assistant to request an application form.
